The Boat Ramp Battle – CHALLENGE YOURSELF

The prestigious Concrete Shoe trophy

The Sunday Challenge will once again be held to determine the winner of the prestigious Concrete Shoe Trophy – which was renamed the Boat Ramp Battle.

And for 2025, a NEW Handicap System will be included! This will provide a slight handicap to the faster runners so that more average runners have a great chance of winning (and not just Tom Dade who’s won the last 3 years – he’s amazing!)

Open to the anyone who completed the 100km Surf Coast Century as a solo competitor on Saturday, the Boat Ramp Blitz will be held on the boat ramp next to the Anglesea Surf Life Saving Club, on Sunday morning immediately before Presentations.

The challenge will consist of 3 reps up and down the boat ramp to the immense cheers and celebrations of spectators lining the ramp. The fastest to complete the 3x reps will be the winner!

The boat ramp is a nasty little hill, short, steep, sealed and full of hurt – especially when you’ve run 100km the day before. Free to enter you’ll need to bring your rocket socks and your speed to get your name on the trophy. Good luck.

BACKGROUND: For 2012 to 2019, the Concrete Shoe trophy was presented to the runner who completed the 100km solo on Saturday and the Trail Running Series 23km long course event on Sunday in the fastest combined time! Previous winners include: Francesco Ciancio, Shona Stephenson, Brendan Davies, Andy Turner, Stuart Hughes (x2!!) and Jason Rawlings and now Tom Dade x3 years in a row!
